Apply for the Greater Region Architecture Award 2026

Architectural excellence will be recognised during the 2026 edition of this award, which will highlight outstanding projects in timber construction and interior design from recent years.

The Greater Region Architecture Award 2026 has been launched! The initiative aims to reward public and private buildings or interior design projects made of wood, built within the Greater Region and completed between 1 January 2021 and 31 December 2025.

Open to architects, project managers, designers and project owners, this award is part of the Interreg W.A.V.E. project, which seeks to strengthen the value chain of structural timber in the Greater Region, with support from the European Union through the Interreg Greater Region 2021–2027 programme.

Seven categories are proposed, covering new buildings (workplaces, leisure facilities, collective housing, single-family homes), renovations (facilities and housing) and interior design projects.

Each participant may submit up to two projects containing at least 50% wood.

Online submission

An international jury will evaluate the submitted projects according to four main criteria:

  • Architectural quality: aesthetic and functional coherence of the project
  • Technical performance: compliance with building standards and durability
  • Innovation: originality of architectural and construction solutions
  • Use of local resources: valorisation of timber from the Greater Region

The winners will receive a trophy, a filmed presentation and visibility as part of a travelling exhibition to be held in 2027.

Applications are open until 14 March 2026. The winners will be announced at the award ceremony scheduled for the end of 2026.
