R&D subsidy: tailor-made support

Do you want to request financial aid for a R&D project?

The Luxembourg Ministry of the Economy offers financial support for large-scale industrial research and experimental development (R&D) projects, which can be resource-intensive and risky.

These support schemes can finance projects relating to:

  • industrial research, aimed at the acquisition of new knowledge or the development of new technological building blocks without direct commercial or operational application;
  • experimental development, aimed at combining existing knowledge or technological building blocks in order to develop a new commercial or operational solution.

In contrast to industrial research, experimental development is a bridge between conceptual principles and practical implementation. It can result in a product that is ready to be implemented.

The grant may cover part of the eligible costs directly related to industrial research or experimental development.

We help you assess your company's eligibility and the suitability of these funding programs for your specific project. We can also support you throughout the process of developing the application for aid, until it is submitted to the Ministry of the Economy.

This aid measure is aimed at Luxembourg private companies that meet all the eligibility criteria.
