Investment aid for measures promoting energy efficiency outside buildings

Under the Law of 8 December 2025 on Luxembourg's environmental and climate protection aid scheme, the Ministry of the Economy offers investment aid to businesses that reduce their final energy consumption through targeted efficiency measures — excluding building-related works.
To be eligible, your investment must achieve at least one of the following thresholds:
- a reduction of at least 20% in final energy consumption, or
- energy savings of at least 250 MWh per year
Only the additional costs directly linked to the environmental improvement are eligible — meaning the green premium over a standard investment, not the full project cost.

Maximum amount of financial aid
The amount of the aid is calculated on the basis of the eligible costs of the project and cannot exceed the following thresholds:

The application must be submitted before the start of works or the first binding order of equipment.
Investments in equipment using fossil fuels (including hybrid systems) are not eligible. Building-related costs, land, vehicles and rolling stock are also excluded.

Who can benefit?
This aid is open to all companies legally established in Luxembourg that hold a valid business permit and are investing in energy efficiency measures outside of buildings.
Eligible investments must go beyond current mandatory standards and must not involve fossil fuel infrastructure (including hybrid systems). Building-related costs, land, vehicles and rolling stock are excluded from eligible costs.
Applications must be submitted online via MyGuichet.lu before any binding commitment is made.
This financial support measure is provided by the Ministry of the Economy.
