Investment aid for charging infrastructure
Do you want to request financial aid for an electric vehicle charging infrastructure investment?
Under the Law of 26 July 2022 as amended by the Law of 18 July 2025, the Ministry of the Economy offers investment aid to companies installing or expanding electric vehicle charging infrastructure in Luxembourg.
Two schemes are available depending on your company size and the type of infrastructure:
Scheme 1 — Call for projects (all companies)
Covers two infrastructure categories:
- AC charging infrastructure — alternating current charging points for light and passenger vehicles
- Charging infrastructure for heavy-duty vehicles — charging points for trucks, buses and other heavy commercial vehicles
Scheme 2 — Simplified scheme for SMEs
A dedicated, lighter procedure for small and medium-sized enterprises investing in charging infrastructure, open from 27 July 2025 to 30 September 2026.
Please note: Charging infrastructure must be powered by 100% renewable electricity. This is a mandatory eligibility condition for both schemes.
Please note: The application must be submitted before the start of works or the first binding order of equipment.
We can advise you on:
- which scheme applies to your company and your type of infrastructure
- whether your project meets the accessibility and technical eligibility conditions

Maximum amount of financial aid
Aid rates vary depending on the type of infrastructure and its degree of public accessibility. The table below summarises the current open calls and applicable rates.
Infrastructure type | Aid rate | Budget | Open call | |
Call for projects | AC charging infrastructure | 30% to 50% depending on degree of accessibility | EUR 7 million | 15/01/2026 to 15/06/2026 (12:00) |
Call for projects | Heavy-duty vehicle charging infrastructure | 50% to 70% depending on degree of accessibility | EUR 5 million | 15/01/2026 to 31/03/2026 (12:00) |
Simplified SME scheme | Charging infrastructure (SMEs only) | Defined in the terms of the scheme | Scheme budget | 27/07/2025 to 30/09/2026 |
Please note: Under the call for projects, projects are selected on the basis of the lowest amount of aid requested per unit of newly created charging capacity effectively available at the time of commissioning. Public charging points accessible 24/7, 365 days a year are counted at 100% of their capacity.
Please note: Minimum thresholds apply under the general rules of the Law of 8 December 2025: EUR 50,000 for SMEs and EUR 100,000 for large companies. The simplified SME scheme is exempt from these thresholds.

Key benefits
Benefit from the following advantages:
-
Two complementary access routes
The call for projects is open to all companies regardless of size, while the simplified SME scheme offers a lighter procedure for smaller businesses. Both routes are available simultaneously, giving companies flexibility to choose the most appropriate path. -
Higher rates for publicly accessible infrastructure
Aid rates increase with the degree of public accessibility of the charging points. Infrastructure accessible to the public 24/7 benefits from the highest rates, creating a direct incentive to deploy open, accessible charging networks. -
Expert support throughout the process
Luxinnovation helps you identify the right scheme, assess your eligibility, prepare your application and submit it via MyGuichet.lu.
Who can benefit?
Call for projects: Open to all companies legally established in Luxembourg that hold a valid business permit and are investing in AC or heavy-duty vehicle charging infrastructure.
Simplified SME scheme: Open to small and medium-sized enterprises legally established in Luxembourg.

- The application must be submitted before works begin or before any binding commitment is made
- Public charging points must comply with the applicable provisions of EU Regulation 2023/1804
- For the call for projects: the infrastructure must meet the technical and accessibility conditions set out in the terms of reference (cahier des charges)
