On 6 July, the European R&D and Innovation support team form Luxinnovation organised the webinar “Unbox your innovation – Scale it up through the EIC”. It was focused on the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator funding scheme, Europe’s flagship innovation programme dedicated to developing and scaling up business breakthrough technologies and game changing innovations.
“If you have an idea that has the potential to disrupt the market, the EIC Accelerator has up to a 2,5M€ grant and 15M€ equity for you”, summarises Francisco Melo, Advisor – European R&D and Innovation Support at Luxinnovation.
Aiming primarily at raising awareness of the programme among the Start-up and SME ecosystem in Luxembourg and to trigger the creation of critical mass around it, the event attracted participants from various European and World geographies. In total, 90 participants from 32 countries took part. It confirms that Luxembourg is a springboard for scaling business in Europe.
“The large number of participants and their proactiveness in Q&A and follow-up contacts, convinced us to turn a one-time event into a series”, points out Inna Perepelytsya, Advisor – European R&D and Innovation Support at Luxinnovation. A new EIC Accelerator event will be held after the summer break.
