BPF 2026: Launch of a new call

Celebrating its 10^th anniversary, the Business Partnership Facility (BPF) supports local challenges in developing countries, transforming them into opportunities for innovation, growth, and sustainable development. Applications for the 16^th call for projects are open until the end of October.

"BPF is a unique instrument that bridges innovation, international business development and societal impact. For Luxembourgish companies with innovative solutions, it represents an opportunity to enter new markets and establish long-term partnerships in developing countries, while contributing to meaningful social and environmental outcomes," explains Alexiane Tinant, Advisor for National Funding at Luxinnovation.

Co-financing of up to €300,000 for Innovative Projects

An initiative of Luxembourg Cooperation, the BPF offers co-financing of up to €300,000 for innovative ventures developed by companies based in Luxembourg or the European Union, alongside their partners in developing countries.

This latest call also presents an opportunity to reflect on a decade of achievements and celebrate the partnerships that have driven them.

Interested companies have until 31 October 2026 to submit their applications online.

The selection process comprises two stages:

• Pre-selection, based on an initial application form;
• Final selection, scheduled for the first half of 2027, based on a detailed project proposal submitted by shortlisted applicants.

Information webinars

Two online information sessions will be held to present the facility and answer questions from interested companies:

• 29 September 2026 at 3.00 pm (CEST), in English;
• 30 September 2026 at 11.00 am (CEST), in French.

Ten years of impact: key figures of the BPF

The BPF was founded on the belief that businesses can play a pivotal role in developing sustainable responses to today's most pressing challenges.

A decade on, the results are compelling . 

• Over 50 projects have received support
• €15 million in public and private investment were leveraged.
• Over 2,200 jobs have been collectively created
• More than 100,000 people have benefited from these initiatives in developing countries.

To commemorate this milestone, the BPF is highlighting ten years of collaboration and innovation through a series of testimonials, project stories, lessons learned, and other anniversary features.

The Business Partnership Facility is initiated and funded by the Directorate for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Defence, Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade of Luxembourg. It is implemented by LuxDev, the Luxembourg Development Cooperation Agency, in partnership with the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, Luxinnovation and the Ministry of the Economy.
