On 7 September 2023, the UK government, in conjunction with the European Commission, officially announced that the UK is now associated with Horizon Europe. This means that consortia applying for funding from Horizon Europe can now include partners from the UK as beneficiaries.

From now on, entities from the United Kingdom can participate in Horizon Europe-funded projects regardless of the Work Programme year or the dates of the opening of the calls for proposals or of the submission deadlines.

Partnership status and funding request

Participating UK organisations must now be added to Horizon Europe proposals as Partners (Beneficiaries), not Associated Partners. UK organisations are eligible to request funding from the EU for their Horizon Europe proposals.
