AI and GenAI 2026 survey in industry

Industrial companies in Luxembourg are invited to take part until 13 March 2026 in the second national study carried out in collaboration with FEDIL and the Luxembourg AI Factory.

27/01/2026

Artificial intelligence (AI) and generative AI (GenAI, used in industry to automate design, optimise processes and accelerate innovation) are transforming industries worldwide, and Luxembourg is no exception. To better understand their specific impact and adoption within the industrial sector, FEDIL, in collaboration with the Luxembourg Digital Innovation Hub (L-DIH) and Luxinnovation, are launching the second edition of the national survey on AI and genAI.

The first edition in 2025 highlighted strong confidence in the ability of ai to drive business transformation, with 8 out of 10 companies expecting tangible improvements and 63% of respondents considering themselves at a more advanced level of maturity. It also revealed structural challenges limiting adoption potential, such as data accessibility and quality, a lack of in-house expertise and difficulties in identifying high-impact use cases..

Objectives of the study

This study aims to:

  • Understand the current use of AI and GenAI in industrial operations and how it has evolved over the past year
  • Assess the level of adoption of AI technologies and the changes observed since 2025
  • Identify new or persistent barriers, challenges and opportunities related to AI adoption
  • Identify additional needs for training, upskilling and funding to strengthen competitiveness and innovation

By gathering input from key stakeholders, this survey helps build a solid understanding of how ai is shaping the industrial sector and supports the acceleration of ai adoption in Luxembourg.

“This year’s survey is particularly important as it enables a comparative analysis with the 2025 edition, measuring progress, identifying new challenges and highlighting emerging trends,” explains Mickael Desloges, senior advisor at Luxinnovation. “The expected feedback will allow us to better understand the real impact of ai on our ecosystem, identify specific opportunities and barriers to adoption and support the development and implementation of resources and new initiatives tailored to business needs.”
