Horizon Europe Pillar 2 – Missions

Drive innovation addressing major societal challenges

Partner with experts from different countries and apply for Horizon Europe funding to address real-world challenges in the fields of cancer, healthy soil, climate change, climate neutrality and oceans.

Do you want to be part of research and innovation projects targeting European and global societal challenges?

Through its so-called Missions, the EU’s research and innovation programme Horizon Europe funds large-scale initiatives addressing real-world challenges with the objective of achieving transformative impact.

The Missions focus on concrete objectives, public engagement and market relevance.

The Missions are mostly implemented through calls for projects for either Research Innovation Actions, Innovation Actions, or Coordination and Support Actions, but are expected to leverage additional public and private resources.

The five missions identified by the European Commission and their objectives are:

  • Cancer – improve the lives of over 3 million people by 2030 through prevention, cure and solutions to live longer and better
  • Healthy soils – 100 living labs and lighthouses to lead the transition towards healthy soils by 2030
  • Climate change – support at least 150 European regions and communities to become climate resilient by 2030
  • Climate neutrality – 100 climate-neutral and smart cities by 2030
  • Oceans – restore our ocean and waters by 2030

We can support you throughout the entire application process and during the project lifetime. We can help you:

  • assess the most relevant calls for proposals and course of action for your research projects
  • identify past and on-going projects and key players that can be helpful for your proposal
  • advise on the proposal writing and review your draft
  • provide support with legal and financial matters at the proposal stage and during the implementation of the project
