A new call for projects has been launched by the Luxembourg Development Cooperation, in partnership with Luxinnovation, aimed at co-financing innovative business partnerships in developing countries up to €200,000. Deadline for submission: 30 April 2025.
The Business Partnership Facility is a tool that has existed since 2016, with the aim of involving the Luxembourg private sector in the framework of development cooperation. It was initiated and financed by the Directorate for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Action of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affair and is implemented by LuxDev, the Luxembourg Development Cooperation Agency, in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce, Luxinnovation and the Ministry of the Economy.
The BPF opened its 13th call for projects, which is aimed at:
Luxemburg companies can benefit from the support of Luxinnovation in the preparation of their BPF application. Elisabeth Frisch (Luxinnovation)
The BPF offers co-financing of up to 50% of the project costs, up to a maximum co-financing amount of €200,000 for the implementation of an innovative and impactful project in the framework of a strong partnership with an entity from a developing country (company, NGO, public entity, etc.).
The co-financed projects contribute to major societal challenges for the development of the partner country (food security, the fight against poverty or climate change, access to quality education, decent work or drinking water, etc.). They can take different forms: a feasibility study for a project in the country concerned, the implementation of a pilot version of a solution in a new market, or the structuring of a production chain and the deployment of a solution on a larger scale.
The aim is to enable developing countries to benefit from "Made in Luxembourg / Europe" innovations and to support mutually beneficial partnerships, with a real local impact.
“Luxemburg companies can benefit from the support of Luxinnovation in the preparation of their BPF application, with a focus on the economic dimension,” Elisabeth Frisch, Advisor National funding at Luxinnovation explains.
Since its launch, 47 partnership projects between European companies and entities in more than 20 developing countries have already been established.
Interested companies have until 30 April 2025 to apply for this call for projects. Two information webinars are open to interested companies:
